October 27th Dublin, OH – In a tremendous show of momentum, Governor Strickland, American hero Senator John Glenn, Attorney General Candidate Rich Cordray and Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern joined Candidate John Carney today at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce to highlight the NexGen program.
I am proud to release our campaign's television commercials. I am honored and humbled to have the support of Senator John Glenn, a true American hero. He and Annie embody many of the traits that we should all strive for every day: innovation, courage, humility and a commitment to improve the lives of the next generation. Senator Glenn has graciously supported my campaign from the beginning and has been a true role model for me throughout my life. I hope that through these commericals you come to understand who I am and what I will bring to the statehouse as your representative.

Governor Ted Strickland lent his support to John Carney in his bid of the 22nd District of the Ohio House of Representatives. The Governor said "I pledge to John tonight that I will do whatever I can to help him be successful. That means helping him with resources and using whatever influence I have on his behalf." The Governor was joined by Chairman Chris Redfern, Minority Leader Joyce Beatty and over 100 key supporters in a fundraiser that kick started John's 2008 campaign. Carney relayed "I feel a sense of great responsibility and obligation ... to help build a better Ohio and that's what we are going to do."

Former Senator John Glenn and Annie Glenn attended a fundraiser for John Carney to support John's plan for improving education within the state. "We are just lucky to have good people like John ... to try and make a positive change particularly on education" said Senator Glenn. John's education plan maximizes state resources by increasing funding in key areas like science and mathematics. Senator Glenn worked tirelessly on this issue throughout his many years as a public servant for Ohio. "What John is talking about on education is very, very important and the state has to take the lead on this" said Senator Glenn.
It is a great sense of responsibility and humility that I feel having received the endorsement of such a wide variety of groups during this campaign. I want to thank each and every member of the interview committees and organizations that I have gone before who have taken the time to participate in this important democratic process. I am honored to be endorsed by police officers, teachers, doctors, businesses, fire fighters, transportation workers, farmers, nurses, carpenters, electricians, conservationists and many more. It shows how truly united different groups can be around a positive message of growing our economy, improving our health and making college more affordable. Thank you for your support!!!
